Diane on the Issues
In the years I have spent fighting to the rights and liberties of the people of Alaska, I have heard across the state that people feel we need a new direction for our state. I am running for office because I believe we need substantive change in Alaska. I want to work with you so together create common sense solutions to the problems we face today.
I have a record of results. From my time fighting for workers rights as a Teamster, to my time fighting for the rights of families in Alaska Legal Services, I have been a triumphant voice for the people of this state. I will continue to fight for you, and ask that you to stand with me to create a true movement for change in our state and our nation.
Civil Rights and Civil Liberties
We must ensure every American can enjoy all rights and protections provided for by our constitution and laws.
Economy
I believe the way to fight our ballooning budget is to start with accountability.
Education
Let's make education and the protection of our children our number one priority in America.
Environment
We need environmental change on all levels, from responsible petrochemical extraction and processing to increasing fuel efficiency standards.
Healthcare
I believe there is our government’s responsibility to ensure that all Americans have access to health care for their families that they can afford.
Immigration
The immigration issue is a complex one, but we need to remember create solutions to the these issues in line with the doctrines of this nation's constitution.
Infrastructure
I will work to make sure that federal infrastructure in Alaska is built in a manner that benefits the people of Alaska.
National Security
I will work hard to promoting diplomacy as a strategy to defend our nation before sending our troops to war.
Native Rights
When in congress, I will seek to represent the voice of Alaska Natives and all Native peoples in Congress, protecting our lands, and ensure the preservation of our natural resources
